I believe preparation is key. You have to prepare right from now and I also think in the exam time management will make or break it. A few pointers are given below on how CLAT aspirants can start preparation:

Read newspaper articles because by definition a news paper covers all recent “events of significance” just like the CLAT expects you to!

I believe the pattern change is in the best interest for the future of the legal profession. CLAT aspirants both 12th pass students as well as graduates must focus on English language comprehension, critical reasoning and decision making because the paper as a whole focuses on skills required in a lawyer.

If you have seen the sample questions released by CLAT, the legal section is very inter

Yes, the order of exams given are more or less the correct order in terms of difficulty. However this doesn't mean that the preparation is same for all.

Take the time to check syllabus and exam pattern for each and you will understand how to tweak your preparation. For example, you will focus on certain topics for CLAT vs some other topics for SLAT, MH-CET.

The CLAT2020 pattern change was recently announced with total marks being 150 reduced from what was previously 200.

The top 5 National Law Schools NLUs have always taken the best 350–400 ranks from the top students, in GS / unreserved category and many lower rank holders for state domicile, SC, OBC, etc. This inspite of difficult and unpredictable papers for eg. 2011.

Getting admission in a reputed/top-tier institute or university will help you secure an education loan.

Meritorious students are offered financial help to study in NLUs by many national banks. However Banks in India are very strict in assessing the eligibility of the candidates. The admission to NLUs will open new doors for you, like a reputed Bank but there is no extreme change i.e. processi

Legal Reasoning Problems form a greater part of the legal section in the CLAT paper.
In 2017 there were 40 such questions and the rest (10) were latin maxims ; in 2016 and 2015 , all 50 questions were reasoning questions. Hence students should make an effort to cover many legal reasoning questions during their clat exam preparation sessions.

In 2019 CLAT reverted to the pen and paper test. They had gone online from 2015 to 2018. Around 70,000 candidates appeared for the exam . Things went pretty smoothly in comparison to the clat disaster faced last year when the online test was conducted. The students had to shade the OMR in black or blue pen and could carry back a carbon copy of the OMR sheet that they had submitted. This allowed th

Yes, you can. The CLAT does not have an age limit.

The reason age limit is removed as an entry barrier is because the legal field needs people from diverse backgrounds.

You are welcome to attempt the CLAT exam and on securing the cut-off, participate in the counselling for seat allotment in NLUs.

As a 30yr old here are some things you may want to consider before taking the plunge.

Let's consider how big a role numbers will play in your practice of Law. Take a look at any bare Act: they have chapters, sections and second level headings with its own set of sections!
GOOD NEWS: You are not expected to memorize any of that! You will probably draft contracts and agreements which may involve several numbers but again number crunching will be done by the software. You are n

There is no upper age limit for CLAT.
The NIOS is treated as equivalent examination so it does not prevent you from sitting for the CLAT.
As regards minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2 or an equivalent examination), the candidates must have secured:
Forty five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General / OBC

It is not necessary to appear for CLAT or any other from a certain place to prove state domicile.

If fact, a lot of students opt for a center in the same city for all exams so they do not have to travel too many times.
You can appear for CLAT, AILET, SLAT etc all law entrance exams from a single city/town which is also an exam center for the Law Entrance Exams.
